Matin Mammadli: Peace is Azerbaijan's regional priority

Peace is Azerbaijan's regional priority, according to Political scientist Matin Mammadli, PhD in Political Science, Report informs.

He made the remark at a roundtable organized by the Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), dedicated to the theses voiced by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his meeting with residents of Zangilan city.

"It is undoubtedly Azerbaijan that has created the reality of peace in the region. After the Washington summit, we are witnessing serious dynamics in the peace process, though certain risks and threats also exist," Mammadli said.

He emphasized that the ideas expressed by President Ilham Aliyev in Zangilan reflect Azerbaijan's strategic vision in the post‑conflict period.

Touching upon the upcoming parliamentary elections in Armenia, Mammadli noted that if revanchist forces come to power, the peace process could be put at risk.
