Mariam Abdelsalam: Consequences of colonialism can be overcome through solidarity

The consequences of colonialism and neocolonialism can only be overcome through international solidarity and joint action, Mariam Sayed Mohamed Abdelsalam, a member of the UN Youth Advisory Board from Egypt, said within the framework of WUF13.

Report quotes her as saying one of the main tasks today is to engage a broader audience in addressing the challenges still faced by states with a colonial past.

"By using the internet, it is possible to act on a global scale and cooperate with various organizations, NGOs, and international platforms," she noted.

Abdelsalam emphasized the need to develop new initiatives aimed at practical responses to existing crises.

She added that the consequences of colonialism and neocolonialism are still being felt in many countries and regions around the world.
