Every person has the right to housing, Reem Mallawi, Alwaleed Philanthropies' Executive Manager of Global Initiatives, said at an event marking the signing of a partnership agreement between UN-Habitat and Alwaleed Philanthropies to promote inclusive housing for people with disabilities as part of WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
Mallawi emphasized that the Saudi Arabian foundation Alwaleed Philanthropies operates in 190 countries and reaches millions of beneficiaries, implementing long-term programs in development, education, and social support.
According to Mallawi, the organization focuses on sustainable solutions and the long-term impact of its projects, rather than on one-time assistance.
"First, we must provide a person with a safe place that preserves their dignity. This leads to stability and, consequently, security. When a person is stable and secure, they can pursue an education, find work, and achieve economic independence," Mallawi said.
