Malaysia will present its Asia-Pacific Urban Agenda Platform (AP-UAP) at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which opens in Baku this Sunday.
According to a statement by Malaysia's Ministry of Housing and Local Government, cited by Report, the country will send a large delegation to the forum headed by Nga Kor Ming, who also serves as president of the UN-Habitat Assembly.
A Malaysian national pavilion will also be inaugurated on the sidelines of the forum, showcasing the country's urban transformation initiatives, affordable housing programs, and sustainable city concept.
The ministry noted that the opening of the pavilion will coincide with the presentation of the AP-UAP Platform.
"This will further underscore Malaysia's commitment to strengthening regional cooperation in the field of sustainable urbanization," the statement said.
"Malaysia views WUF13 as an important platform for exchanging best practices, strengthening international partnerships, and seeking innovative urban solutions capable of improving people's quality of life. Inclusive national development will be shaped through the creation of cities and communities prepared for future challenges. Through WUF13, we hope to work closely with global partners to build inclusive, sustainable, and resilient cities for future generations," Minister Ming said.
