Malaysia preparing for active participation in WUF13 in Baku

Malaysia is preparing to take an active part in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will be held in Baku from May 17 to 22, and intends to present its own urban development initiatives.

According to Malaysia's Ministry of Housing and Local Government, cited by Report, the country plans to showcase its approaches to sustainable urban development at the event.

The ministry noted that the World Urban Forum is the largest global platform on urban issues, bringing together representatives of different countries, urban development experts, and industry stakeholders from around the world.

"The forum will provide an opportunity to exchange ideas, innovations, and best practices for building more sustainable, inclusive, and livable cities," the statement said.

The ministry emphasized that Malaysia aims to present its initiatives and achievements in urban development, housing policy, and improving the well-being of the population.

"Malaysia's active participation in WUF13 reflects the country's continued commitment to advancing the global sustainable urbanization agenda and strengthening international strategic cooperation in line with the forum's theme - ‘Housing for All: Safe and Sustainable Cities and Communities,'" the statement added.

According to the statement, a national pavilion of Malaysia, organized jointly with URBANICE Malaysia, will be opened as part of the forum.

The pavilion will begin operations on May 18 under the theme: "RUMAH MALAYSIA: Promoting Affordable Housing for All."

Officials believe WUF13 will serve as an important platform for exchanging experience, strengthening international cooperation, and expanding Malaysia"s role in the global sustainable urban development agenda.
