Azerbaijan is restoring its liberated territories very quickly and skillfully, while continuing to strengthen its defense potential, military expert, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko told Report.
“Over the past two years, Azerbaijan has seriously strengthened its economic and defense potential. In the liberated territories, we see a revival, the implementation of large-scale economic projects. New roads, smart cities and villages are being built, industrial and transport infrastructure is being restored, and large modern international airports have been put into operation. The creative work of the Azerbaijani people once again shows that the liberated territories have returned to their true owner, who restores order and heals the wounds of the war, building a better future,” Korotchenko said.
According to the political scientist, Azerbaijan still has a lot to do, because, in accordance with the tripartite statement, Armenia must withdraw its illegal armed formations from the Karabakh region, the illegally created separatist administration must be dissolved, the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan should be delimited and demarcated, transport communications in the region should be unblocked.
“And most importantly, a peace treaty should be signed based on the five basic principles put forward by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and which fully comply with international law and the UN Charter,” he emphasized.
“On behalf of the Russian expert community, I would like to wish the people of Azerbaijan peace, prosperity, development, the speedy restoration of the liberated territories and a happy peaceful sky above their heads. We believe that there is no alternative to the peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku, it must be signed, which will mean, from a diplomatic point of view, the final consolidation of the outstanding historical victory of Azerbaijan in the Patriotic War,” he concluded.
