The 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) being held in Baku, a city that embodies the unity of historical heritage, modern architecture, and contemporary dynamism, is no coincidence, Olzhas Bektenov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, said during his speech at the Leaders' Summit within WUF13, Report informs.
Bektenov noted that more than 63% of Kazakhstan's population lives in cities: "In this sense, these topics form one of the foundations of our state policy. Kazakhstan has adopted a new Construction Code, where we have defined the criteria for architecture and urban construction quality."
He also expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Government of Azerbaijan for the organization of the forum.
He further noted that Kazakhstan cooperates with UN‑Habitat and with institutions engaged in resilient city initiatives:
"Kazakhstan has always been committed to open dialogue and partnership in the face of global challenges. Thanks to this, we believe in building modern, sustainable, and resilient cities."
