The joint projects implemented by Azerbaijan and Georgia have made a significant contribution to a broader geographical area, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during a briefing with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili in Tbilisi, Report's Georgian bureau informs.
Bayramov emphasized that Azerbaijan is considered one of the key investors in Georgia’s economy, with total investments estimated at $3.6 billion:
“Major projects implemented with the joint participation of our countries have made a significant contribution not only to the development of Azerbaijan and Georgia but also to a broader regional geography as a whole. These projects are of particular importance for improving the welfare of both our countries and our peoples, and their impact is felt on a global scale. Among these major projects, we can especially highlight the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the Southern Gas Corridor, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, and other important initiatives.”
According to him, Azerbaijan and Georgia will continue implementing such large-scale projects in the future.
“I would particularly like to emphasize the initiatives in the field of alternative energy. This project envisions the supply of green energy from Azerbaijan’s Caspian basin through Georgia and across the Black Sea to European markets. For this purpose, Azerbaijan and Georgia are working closely with a number of European countries, including Turkey, ensuring the successful advancement of the project,” the minister noted.
