Jeyhun Bayramov discusses digital cooperation with DCO secretary general

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has met with a delegation led by Deemah Al Yahya, Secretary General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO).

According to Report, citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on prospects for developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the DCO following the country's accession to the organization this year, as well as expanding cooperation in digital transformation, innovation, artificial intelligence, the digital economy and the startup ecosystem.

Bayramov said Azerbaijan regarded digital development, innovation and the introduction of new technologies as important areas of the country's economic development and international cooperation.

The meeting was briefed on measures being implemented in Azerbaijan to develop the digital economy, improve digital infrastructure and introduce innovative solutions and artificial intelligence.

The sides also exchanged views on Azerbaijan's contribution to energy security and projects aimed at ensuring the transportation of energy resources through reliable and diversified routes.

It was emphasized that Azerbaijan plays an active role in regional and international energy cooperation and that the development of energy infrastructure and transportation routes helps strengthen economic ties between countries. Detailed information was also provided on the use of advanced digital technologies in this area.

The meeting also highlighted Azerbaijan's contribution to developing transport and communication links in the region, improving the efficiency of international transport corridors and expanding transit opportunities.

The importance of applying digital technologies and optimizing logistics processes in this field was emphasized.

DCO Secretary General Deemah Al Yahya provided detailed information on the organization's activities, noted Azerbaijan's achievements in digital development and stressed the organization's interest in further expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest, including current topics on the international and regional agenda.
