He shared this insight at a roundtable organized by the Center for Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), dedicated to the theses voiced by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his meeting with residents of Zangilan city.
Valiyev noted that the opening of the border will not affect elections in Armenia: "Certain works and restoration activities are being carried out at the Türkiye–Armenia border. It is clear from Türkiye's position that this process is being implemented in consultation with Azerbaijan. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also emphasized this."
The expert added that there is still uncertainty regarding the referendum on Armenia's constitution:
"In general, changing the mindset of Armenian society will take considerable time. This, undoubtedly, negatively affects the realization of the referendum in this direction."
