President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has proposed creating a single electronic trading platform for the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan at the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan in Avaza, Turkmenistan, Report informs.
According to him, supporting and developing e-commerce is one of the most dynamically growing sectors of the global economy.
"Our citizens actively use international electronic trading platforms to purchase goods from third countries. In this regard, we propose creating a single electronic trading platform for Central Asia and Azerbaijan," Japarov said.
He noted that such a platform would provide wider access for consumers and businesses to goods produced in the region's countries.
"Taking into account the unique national products of each country, this platform could combine a wide range of regional products and create new opportunities for their promotion," the president of Kyrgyzstan added.
According to him, for example, a resident of Astana or Tashkent will be able to purchase environmentally friendly Kyrgyz mountain honey in a few clicks using online payment.
Japarov emphasized that the development of e-commerce must be accompanied by the formation of an appropriate logistics infrastructure, including mechanisms for delivery, warehousing, customs clearance, and tracking of goods.
