The main reason for the hostility of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) against Azerbaijan is related to the great victory of the Azerbaijani Army in the Second Karabakh War in 2020, Mashallah Razmi, an expert on the South Azerbaijan national movement, co-founder of the Erk human rights protection organization, told Report.

According to him, the SEPAH also created a warehouse for storing and transiting narcotics in the Jabrayil district of Azerbaijan during the occupation.

"For years, drugs were brought there by international traffickers. In return, they wanted to supply part of the needs through international smugglers that the Islamic Republic of Iran could not provide due to international sanctions. Or the same smugglers were making contraband weapons for their clients in other countries, including the Yemeni Houthis. After the 44-day Patriotic War, the IRGC lost this illegal opportunity, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is reportedly facing difficulties in providing financial aid as well as weapons to its proxies. One of the main reasons for its enmity with the Republic of Azerbaijan is the elimination of opportunities for the illegal activity of the IRGC in the territories freed from occupation," Razmi emphasized.

Mashallah Razmi is currently living as an immigrant in France.
