Ilham Aliyev: "Though the war is over, territorial claims against us are not over yet"

"We have proved to the whole world how to fight in the XXI century - to fight with dignity, to fight in modern ways. In just 44 days, the Armenian army was completely destroyed. This is the greatness of our people, our people's belief in victory, the unity between the nation and the government, and the unity of Azerbaijanis all over the world," President Ilham Aliyev told the V Congress of World Azerbaijanis.

The president recalled that the Armenian army was in a state of mass desertion during the war. According to their own confessions, there were 10,000 deserters. There was not a single deserter in the Azerbaijani army.

"I know that you and millions of Azerbaijanis living abroad like you, were closely watching the war in their fatherland. At the same time, in your speeches, comments, social networks, using your other opportunities, you conveyed the true voice of Azerbaijan, the right cause to the public of the countries where you live. There is still a need for it today. Because even though the war is over, the territorial claims against us are not over yet. I am sure it will also end. I am confident that as a result of our efforts during the post-war period and as a result of our subsequent efforts, we will eliminate the territorial claims of Armenia and world Armenians against Azerbaijan," the president said.
