Ilham Aliyev: "Relations with the Kyrgyz Republic have reached strategic partnership level"

"Today is a very significant day in our bilateral relations - the president of Kyrgyzstan is on an official visit to Azerbaijan. We are very glad to welcome you and discuss the prospects for the development of our relations. Mr. President and I exchanged views on bilateral agenda and regional issues, and we intend to use this visit to achieve maximum results. Many documents will be signed today. We have already talked about this. Our relations have reached the level of strategic partnership," President Ilham Aliyev told a meeting with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov on April 20, Report says.

"Bu, çox əlamətdar hadisədir, çünki qarşılıqlı fəaliyyətdə olduğumuz 29 il ərzində biz, əlbəttə, bir sıra istiqamətlər üzrə fəal işləmişik, lakin münasibətlərimiz bu səviyyədə olmayıb. Strateji tərəfdaşlıq həm böyük üstünlüklər, həm də böyük məsuliyyət deməkdir. Əminəm ki, gələcəkdə də həmişə, beynəlxalq qurumlarda da bir-birimizi dəstəkləyəcək, ikitərəfli planda fəal işləyəcəyik", - dövlət başçısı bildirib.

"This is a very significant event, because during the 29 years of our interaction, we have, of course, actively worked in a number of areas, but our relations have not been at this level. The strategic partnership means both great advantages and great responsibilities. We will support each other in international organizations and work actively on a bilateral basis," the president said.
