Ilham Aliyev calls Central Asia and Azerbaijan a single geopolitical region

Central Asia and Azerbaijan today constitute a single geopolitical and economic region with enormous growth potential, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said in a joint press statement with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to Report's correspondent from Tashkent, the head of state emphasized Mirziyoyev's special role in incorporating Azerbaijan into the cooperation framework of Central Asian countries.

"The geography of cooperation has expanded. Today, Central Asia and Azerbaijan are one geopolitical and economic region that has enormous potential, but even greater potential for growth," Aliyev said.

According to him, close cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan largely determines the positive development dynamics of the region.

"It also largely determines the overall positive development dynamics of this large, I would even say newly established and already sufficiently integrated region," the president noted.
