Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan's struggle against forces that dislike it will be permanent

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that forces that dislike Azerbaijan will never give up and declared that this struggle will be permanent, Report informs.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, entitled "The Mission of the Media in Promoting Peace: Restoring Truth and Rebuilding Trust," the head of state noted that the world has changed and new threats and provocations have emerged.

"We must look to the future, the world is changing, new threats and provocations are emerging. If anyone thinks that the forces that do not want us will leave us alone, this will never happen; this struggle must be permanent. The struggle is to protect our rights and national identity, the struggle is to keep our independence in our own hands. There are many examples where some countries and their leaders take shelter under someone's wing and believe that this will protect them, but ultimately they become victims, victims of big games. Our people have seen both occupation and destruction, both victory and restoration, and are participants in this," Ilham Aliyev said.

The president declared that national identity and national dignity must be above everything:

"You can be defeated, but you must never bend, never break, never agree with the occupier, never live by the dictates of the occupier. If necessary, even if you die, you must live with dignity and instill this in your children and grandchildren. Therefore, our future development will be connected with the young generation. They, like us, must be devoted to the homeland, resilient, strong-willed, and powerful so that Azerbaijan always remains at the heights."
