Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan rich in cities known for historical monuments, cultural heritage

Azerbaijan is rich in cities known for their historical monuments and cultural heritage, President Ilham Aliyev said at the official opening ceremony of WUF13, Report informs.

"Azerbaijan is situated between Europe and Asia and has always been the place where East meets West. And this is also reflected in our country's architecture. So if you walk inside the ancient walls of the old city of Baku and just cross the street, you will find yourself in the absolutely modern surroundings of the Baku Boulevard, which used to be three kilometers long and now is more than a 15-kilometer seafront promenade, and next to that are the buildings of the 19th century, which were designed and built by European architects," President Ilham Aliyev said.
