The European Union and Azerbaijan have achieved significant results in developing bilateral cooperation over the past three decades, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Marijana Kujundžić said.
According to Report's correspondent from Ganja, speaking at the EU Youth Competition in Ganja, Kujundžić noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of partnership between the European Union and Azerbaijan.
"Since 1996, we have achieved significant results. Hundreds of projects have been implemented across a wide range of sectors, from agriculture and business development to healthcare, environmental protection and many other areas. Thousands of students have had the opportunity to study in Europe through the Erasmus+ programme," the ambassador said.
Kujundžić also highlighted the important role of young people in strengthening ties between the societies of Azerbaijan and EU member states. According to her, initiatives such as the EU Youth Competition help foster mutual learning and contribute to the development of intercultural dialogue.
The diplomat recalled that Ganja was named a European Youth Capital in 2016 and hosted the "European Village" event a decade ago.
She also invited participants to attend an educational exhibition scheduled to take place in Baku on October 10–11.
