Hikmat Hajiyev: Azerbaijan and Mexico have great potential for partnership

Azerbaijan and Mexico have significant potential for close partnership and cooperation within international organizations, Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said at a reception marking Mexico's Independence Day.

Report quotes him as saying all the necessary opportunities exist to unlock and develop this potential for the benefit of both countries.

"As friends of Mexico, we are pleased to see that the country is developing dynamically, demonstrating strong economic growth and emerging as one of the leading and active G20 states. In this context, there are great opportunities for our countries to develop close cooperation and partnership within international organizations," Hajiyev said.

The presidential aide noted that the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), held in Baku in May this year, opened up new prospects for relations between Azerbaijan and Mexico.

According to him, the two countries can jointly advance the international urban development agenda and share their accumulated experience with the global community.

Hajiyev also identified rich cultural heritage as one of the important values that unite Azerbaijan and Mexico.

He praised the strong interest among Azerbaijani youth and students in Mexican dances and culture, expressing confidence that the relevant institutions of the two countries would continue to successfully develop cooperation in this area.
