Haber Global talks on Ursula von der Leyen's visit to Baku

The Turkish TV channel Haber Global has dedicated a segment to the visit of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to Baku and her meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Report informs.

At the beginning of the segment, it is noted that during the visit, the parties discussed relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union.

The article also emphasizes that during the meeting, at which Ursula von der Leyen cited the leadership qualities of President Ilham Aliyev as an example, the head of the European Commission expressed confidence in the bright future of the South Caucasus.

Special attention in the segment was given to the statements of the head of the Azerbaijani state regarding the ongoing peace process between Baku and Yerevan.

"Of course, we also discussed the regional security issues at length, especially the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which is progressing successfully. Last August in Washington, at the White House, in the presence of President Trump, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed the Joint Declaration. President Trump also signed it as a witness, and Armenia and Azerbaijan also initialed the text of the peace agreement. So, de facto, peace is done, and we see the benefits.

We have taken many unilateral steps in order to demonstrate that peace is not only on paper, but that we can feel it in day-to-day life. Azerbaijan lifted all the restrictions on the transit of goods through its territory to Armenia," the TV channel quotes the president of Azerbaijan.

The segment also recalled the statements of President Ilham Aliyev regarding relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union and presented selected excerpts from Ursula von der Leyen's speech.
