Guillermo Sosa: Paraguayan business delegation to visit Azerbaijan

A delegation of Paraguayan businesspeople is expected to visit Baku.

Paraguay's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, resident in Ankara, Guillermo Sosa, told Report's Turkish bureau that the visit will focus on promoting Mate, a traditional Paraguayan beverage, in Azerbaijan and giving Azerbaijani consumers an opportunity to try the product.

"Mate is one of Paraguay's important traditional products. Consumed daily in the country, the beverage has great cultural significance, similar to tea or coffee, and is considered the national drink," the ambassador said.

Sosa said the Paraguayan business delegation will participate in a food exhibition in Istanbul in late August or early September, where they plan to hold bilateral B2B meetings with relevant Turkish companies and establish business ties.

Following the Istanbul exhibition, the delegation is scheduled to visit Baku to meet with Azerbaijani businesspeople and companies and develop trade ties between the two countries.

"We also envisage developing cooperation between businesspeople from Azerbaijan and Paraguay and organizing special promotional events in the future, such as Mate Days. Therefore, we are preparing for high-level visits and meetings in both Istanbul and Baku," the ambassador said.

Sosa also noted that such events would provide an important opportunity not only to strengthen trade ties but also to develop cultural relations and promote mutual understanding between the two peoples.
