Green energy key to diversifying Azerbaijan's economy, UK envoy says

Green energy is an important direction for diversifying Azerbaijan's economy, Britain's newly appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan, Duncan Norman, told a press conference, Report informs.

"Economic growth is one of the key elements of our relations with Azerbaijan. This is particularly important for Azerbaijan's economy and the well-being of its people, but it is also important for the UK for the same reasons. Therefore, our governments attach great importance to this," he said.

According to the diplomat, the UK is considering several areas of cooperation, including transport, infrastructure, information technology and energy.

"However, this time the focus will be on green energy. This is a really important area for Azerbaijan in terms of diversification," Norman said, emphasizing that there are significant opportunities in this field, particularly in solar and wind energy.

Norman also expressed hope that he would visit the city of Shusha soon.
