Greece-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission to hold its next meeting in Athens this fall

The next session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between Greece and Azerbaijan will take place this autumn in Athens, the Greek Embassy in Baku said, commenting on the outcomes of a meeting between Ambassador Maria Papakonstantinou and Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov.

According to Report, particular attention was given to the role of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline in strengthening Europe's energy security, as well as prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.

The sides also discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation within the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, co-chaired by Shahbazov and Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Harris Theoharis, ahead of the upcoming meeting in Athens.

The embassy also highlighted the importance of the upcoming Baku Energy Week as a platform for dialogue and exchange on energy issues.
