Giorgi Khaindrava: Armenia cannot develop without cooperation with Azerbaijan and Georgia

Regardless of the results of the parliamentary elections held in Armenia, it is crucial that Baku and Yerevan sign a peace agreement, political observer Giorgi Khaindrava told Report.

According to him, the current realities in the region demonstrate that peace has no alternative for Armenia.

"The current reality is that regardless of the results of the elections in Armenia, a peace treaty should be signed between Baku and Yerevan. This, first and foremost, serves Armenia's interests, as it is not in a position to dictate its terms," the expert stated.

Khaindrava believes that the region's development in recent years and the success achieved by Azerbaijan, as well as Georgia, are an important example for Armenia.

"The development of the region and the achievements of Azerbaijan and Georgia demonstrate that ensuring sustainable and stable peace in the South Caucasus is in Armenia's interests and is an important condition for the country's development," Khaindrava said.

In his opinion, Armenia cannot achieve full economic development without cooperation with neighboring countries.

"Armenia cannot fully develop without Azerbaijan and Georgia. This issue becomes even more pressing, especially given the recent tensions in relations with Russia," the expert emphasized.

Khaindrava added that, under current conditions, the most realistic path to Armenia's economic development and strengthening its statehood lies through normalizing relations with neighboring countries.

"Under these circumstances, the only way to ensure Armenia's economic development is to establish good-neighborly relations with Azerbaijan and Georgia. This cooperation will contribute to both regional stability and Armenia's future development," the expert concluded.
