FM: Successful foreign policy of President Ilham Aliyev will bring new victories

"The great victory of the brave Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev, created a glorious page in the history of Azerbaijan, created new realities in the region, ensured Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, restored violated fundamental rights of about one million Azerbaijanis," Foreign Affairs Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov told media, Report informs.

"As the President of Azerbaijan noted at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly on September 24, 2021, Azerbaijan has created new realities in the South Caucasus region, and everyone should take this into account. Armenia must choose between regional cooperation and illegal and unfounded territorial claims against its neighbors.

President Ilham Aliyev has stated at the UN General Assembly: 'Azerbaijan will continue to resolutely defend its just position based on international law in the world arena and will continue its efforts for the development of our country and people within our international borders. We hope that the long-awaited peace, security, and stability will finally be established in the South Caucasus. If we see again any danger to our sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of our people we will exercise our legitimate right to self-defense without any hesitation.'

The basis of the success of any state's domestic and foreign policy is, first of all, the unity of the people and the support of the people. The 44-day Patriotic War was the most obvious indicator of the unity and confidence of the Azerbaijani people, the minister said.

"President Ilham Aliyev made this very clear in his address to the nation on achieving the Great Victory: 'I could feel the support of the people, see their trust. Nothing could stop me. Because I knew we were right. We were restoring our territorial integrity and returning our lands. This war has shown the whole world how great the Azerbaijani people are - an invincible people, an iron-willed people, a victorious people, our victorious army! We are proud of our people and our army!'

We are confident that Azerbaijan's foreign policy, based on national interests, will continue to ensure peace and security in the region and the world, and the application of the international law and the successful foreign policy of President Ilham Aliyev based on the unity of the Azerbaijani people will bring new victories," Jeyhun Bayramov stressed.
