Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, is at a crisis level in terms of density, and the government is currently working to address this, Fatima Bintu Sirleaf, Deputy Minister for Urban Affairs at Liberia's Ministry of Internal Affairs, said at the ministerial roundtable held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
According to her, the population in Monrovia is extremely densely settled:
"We are closely cooperating with our neighbors so that this housing crisis remains in the past. We are participating here to conduct negotiations and establish connections with other countries. The goal is to learn about the work they have done in this area, raise awareness, and create housing for our people. Currently, the Liberian government has launched a housing construction project in suburban areas aimed at alleviating the congestion in the capital."
