Farid Shafiyev: Azerbaijan's economic potential extends beyond South Caucasus

Azerbaijan's economic potential is increasingly evident far beyond the South Caucasus through the large-scale projects the country is implementing across various regions of Eurasia, Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), said in opening remarks at the conference "Azerbaijan as a Middle Power: Foreign Policy, Regional Influence and Global Engagement" in Baku.

Report quotes Shafiyev as saying the concept of a middle power encompasses several key elements, with military strength and economic potential among the most important.

"Today, Azerbaijan is implementing projects in neighboring regions as well as in Eastern and Southern Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia. In other words, Azerbaijan's economic potential extends well beyond the South Caucasus," Shafiyev emphasized.
