Farid Gayibov hails Azerbaijan-Egypt strategic partnership

Relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt are now at the level of strategic partnership, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov said at a reception celebrating Egypt's National Day, Report informs.

According to him, Baku and Cairo are linked by long-standing friendly relations based on mutual respect and shared cultural values.

"Today, we are not only marking a historic event. We are also honoring the friendship between Azerbaijan and Egypt, which has been built over many years, stood the test of time and remains strong today," the minister said.

Gayibov noted that this year marks the 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. During this period, 65 agreements and protocols covering various areas of cooperation have been signed.

The minister recalled that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev paid an official visit to Egypt in June 2024, while Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi visited Baku in January 2023.

"These reciprocal visits elevated relations between the two countries to the level of strategic partnership," Gayibov said.
