Ex-president of Croatia: Ukrainians want peace more than anyone

Ukrainians want peace more than anyone, Former President of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, said at the 12th Global Baku Forum, Report informs.

Grabar-Kitarović noted that people are tired and frustrated: "Defending Ukraine's territorial integrity comes at a very high cost. Any ceasefire must prevent Russia from continuing its occupation. This concerns us too, because we are geographically close."

The ex-president also touched on the Russian President's latest speech: "Putin said that Russia is currently in a winning position and Russia can go deeper into Ukraine. He then said that any ceasefire would be in Ukraine's favor in terms of their preparation."

"The European Union should make its position clear and support the continent," she said, adding, "Undoubtedly, the US has a completely different position on this issue. We must be very careful."
