Erdogan calls on Turkic states to expand cooperation in defense industry

Turkic countries need to expand cooperation in the defense industry, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States, according to Report's correspondent from Turkistan.

"Events in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, Ukraine, and other crisis hotspots point to the need to strengthen our defense capabilities and expand cooperation in the defense industry. Türkiye is ready to share with the organization's member states the experience it has accumulated in the defense industry based on high technologies," he said.

Erdogan also spoke in favor of the rapid launch of the OTS Plus format and emphasized the importance of transport projects connecting the Turkic world, including the Middle Corridor.

"Transport projects linking the Turkic world, above all the Middle Corridor, will continue to remain our priority," Erdogan stressed.

He noted that the crisis in the Middle East has once again demonstrated the strategic importance of solidarity within the Turkic world.

"In the face of geopolitical challenges, we must strengthen mechanisms for consultation and coordination. We consider it useful to implement the OTS Plus format as soon as possible," the Turkish president stated.

He added that active contacts among OTS leaders and ministers confirm that the countries have already developed the ability to respond promptly to common challenges.
