Envoy: Slovakia sees Azerbaijan as key regional partner

Slovakia and Azerbaijan are developing a strategic partnership, Slovakia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Elchin Gasimov said at an event dedicated to Constitution Day and Armed Forces Day of the Slovak Republic.

According to Report, Gasimov said Slovakia and Azerbaijan currently maintain a high level of political dialogue.

He pointed to recent high-level visits, including Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's first official visit to Slovakia and Slovak President Peter Pellegrini's return official visit to Azerbaijan.

"These reciprocal high-level visits confirm the strength of our relations and our mutual interest in their further development," Gasimov said.

He noted that the partnership between the two countries is built on pragmatism and mutual respect.

"Slovakia and Azerbaijan are linked by a genuine strategic partnership. Our relations are not merely formal diplomatic ties. We are friendly states that support each other and turn excellent relations into concrete projects and practical cooperation," the ambassador said.

Gasimov added that Slovakia views Azerbaijan as one of the key countries in the region, an important guarantor of stability and development, and a major logistics and transport hub connecting East and West.
