Envoy: Azerbaijan - key trade, economic partner of Kazakhstan in region

Azerbaijan is a key trade and economic partner of Kazakhstan in the South Caucasus, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Serzhan Abdikarimov said at a meeting of the trade and economic mission of Kazakhstani producers in Baku, Report informs.

“Today’s event is another testament to our fraternal cooperation,” he said, adding that trade ties between the two countries have further developed after the pandemic and Azerbaijan’s victory in the second Karabakh war.

“Our trade turnover has been growing rapidly over the past two years. In general, our relations are on the rise. We are very pleased with this. You know that our Trans-Caspian International Transport Route is a key project. Today, we are continuing work on laying a fiber-optic communication line along the bottom of the Caspian Sea. You know that our oil has already gone through Azerbaijan. These volumes will increase. We have also increased the supply of wheat to Azerbaijan - they cover almost one-fifth of the needs,” Serzhan Abdikarimov said.

“We see how powerful development continues in Azerbaijan, how the liberated territories are being restored. Our businessmen are also interested in the reconstruction of these lands. We see that new economic zones have been created, smart cities, agricultural parks, roads and airports are being built in record time. This inspires our respect and consolidation,” the ambassador added.
