In Aghdam, at least some ruins remained to suggest a city once existed, but in the case of Fuzuli, not even ruins could be seen – the city was completely erased from the earth, Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, said during an event held within the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.
Huseynov mentioned that Aghdam currently has 72 settlements, Fuzuli 60, and Khojavand 83.
"Overall, the Great Return process is being carried out at full speed. At present, there are 11 residential quarters, 25,000 apartments, and 1,864 individual houses. People are already living in these three districts, and infrastructure facilities related to regional reconstruction have been established," he said.
The official noted that three villages and one residential complex in Aghdam have already been commissioned:
"In total, 7,000 people live in Aghdam. In Fuzuli and Khojavand, 3,000 people have settled. Altogether, 13,700 people live in these three districts. This means people are returning, being resettled, living in houses and apartments, and becoming part of the productive segment of society."
