Egyptian ambassador sees significant prospects for oil and gas cooperation with Azerbaijan

Egypt intends to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, tourism, investment and other sectors, Egyptian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hossam El Din Effat Mostafa Reda said while answering journalists' questions at a reception marking Egypt's National Day, Report informs.

According to him, relations between the two countries continue to develop thanks to a solid foundation and political support from the leadership of both states.

Speaking about prospects for cooperation, the diplomat said the two countries could expand ties in many areas.

"Azerbaijan's oil and gas sector is well developed, while Egypt also has extensive experience in this field. However, there is broad cooperation potential that has yet to be realized," the ambassador said.

He added that Egypt's pharmaceutical industry and manufacturing sector are also developing strongly, noting that the two countries could benefit from exchanging experience in these areas.

Hossam El Din Effat Mostafa Reda said cooperation between Cairo and Baku should not be limited to the import and export of goods.

"For us, the main goal is not just trade, but investment exchange, tourism development and cooperation in many other sectors. There are many areas in which we can work together," he said.
