EAPCA sends appeal to Dutch Parliament over anti-Azerbaijani resolution

The Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council of Azerbaijanis (EAPCA) has sent an appeal to the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the Dutch Parliament regarding another biased and one-sided resolution against Azerbaijan, adopted by the House on April 16 of this year in The Hague, EAPCA Chairman Sahil Gasimov told Report.

He noted that on May 26, he submitted an official appeal to the Secretary of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Dutch Parliament, Arjen Westerhoff, and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Jennifer Richardson.

The appeal states that the Dutch Parliament has once again demonstrated a position that is far removed from the principles of objectivity, international law, and a fair approach, and has approached processes unfolding in the region selectively, through the prism of political interests.

The document notes that Azerbaijan has ensured its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and internationally recognized borders, and has taken consistent steps to establish lasting peace and cooperation in the region.

According to Gasimov, the appeal also emphasizes that the Dutch Parliament's application of double standards against Azerbaijan is contrary to international law: "Such documents, regularly adopted by the Dutch Parliament against Azerbaijan, have already become a targeted campaign. Such biased resolutions, adopted at such a time, further embolden revanchist forces. EAPCA calls on the Dutch Parliament to accept the new realities that have emerged in the South Caucasus and to convey the voice of Azerbaijanis living in this geographic region."
