France kills our people and settles French people instead, Movement of Democrats and Environmentalists for Sovereign Martinique representative Claudette Duhamel told an international conference on "Neocolonialism: violation of human rights and injustice" held in Baku, Report informs.

According to her, even if there is one percent in the country, the entire economy is in the hands of the French colonialists: "Our people cannot manage the country, it is in a deadly situation. We used to have agriculture, but it is now a thing of the past. They poisoned and destroyed our land. So we have to buy our food from somewhere else. We have become dependent on imports. Our youth doesn't know what to do anymore. They are afraid of France because they are exiled. They are doing what they did in Kanak and Polynesia, they are killing our population. In their place they settled the French, they are slave-holders. People of my generation have paid a heavy price because we have fought continuously. And the youth of today decided to boycott, they boycotted the big supermarkets, and as a result, there was terrible repression. They arrested the youth."
