Deputy minister: Romania important partner for Azerbaijan

Romania is an important partner for Azerbaijan, Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammad-Guliyev said at the 6th meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic and Scientific Cooperation between the governments of Azerbaijan and Romania taking place in Baku, Report informs.

He stressed that the relations between the two countries are based on the principles of trust, taking into account the basic principles of international law.

According to the deputy foreign minister, Azerbaijan and Romania cooperate on a wide range of issues, from energy to culture. Azerbaijan is interested in expanding trade with Romania, Mammad-Guliyev added.

Speaking about the liberated Azerbaijani territories, the deputy minister stressed that the tripartite statement of November 2020 marked the end of the conflict.

“At the post-conflict stage, Azerbaijan has clearly voiced its position, which includes the restoration of the liberated territories and the normalization of relations with Armenia. Azerbaijan is taking practical steps in this direction,” Mammad-Guliyev said.
