Denisa Sakova: Slovakia values Azerbaijan's contribution to Europe's energy security

Slovakia highly values Azerbaijan's contribution to strengthening Europe's energy security, Slovakia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Denisa Sakova said at the Azerbaijan-Slovakia Business Forum in Baku, Report informs.

According to her, Azerbaijan is playing an increasingly important role not only as a reliable energy partner but also as a major logistics hub linking regions and markets.

"Energy remains one of the pillars of our economic cooperation. Diversifying natural gas sources and transportation routes is key for both Slovakia and Europe, and we highly value Azerbaijan's contribution to strengthening our region's energy security," Sakova emphasized.

She noted that cooperation between the two countries extends far beyond energy.

"Slovak companies are already contributing to Azerbaijan's development, and we highly value the opportunity to participate in the reconstruction of Karabakh. The Smart Village project in Aghdam is an excellent example of how Slovak technology and expertise can offer practical solutions that improve people's lives," the deputy prime minister said.

According to her, Slovakia also sees significant potential for cooperation in infrastructure, digitalization, industrial production, water management, and advanced technologies.

Sakova emphasized that Slovakia is a modern industrial economy with a strong engineering school, highly qualified personnel, and growing innovative potential, and that Slovak companies are ready to become reliable partners in Azerbaijan's further development.

She also recalled that the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in 2024 opened a new chapter in relations between the two countries, and cooperation is already yielding concrete results in energy, defense, manufacturing, investment projects, and the restoration of liberated territories.
