Committee Chairman: Georgia regains mediator role in region

"A new balance of power has emerged in the South Caucasus," Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Georgian Foreign Affairs Committee, said at a meeting of the Georgian parliament, the local bureau of the Report informs.
He noted that Georgia had taken the right, timely, and sustainable steps against the background of recent events in the region; "Azerbaijan, Armenia and the United States have entrusted the mediation mission in the area to Georgia. The Prime Minister coped well with the difficult task and the mediating role, which was a victory for our country and the whole region. "
He noted that Georgia is regaining the most crucial mediator function in the region.
