Columbian media writes about restoration and reconstruction works in liberated territories of Azerbaijan

Ola Politica newspaper, one of the influential digital media of Colombia, published an article by well-known journalist Roberto Trobajo about the restoration and reconstruction works in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico told Report.

The article says that the Azerbaijani government is rapidly rebuilding the territories destroyed, ruined, and vandalized by Armenians during the 30-year occupation.

Also, it is noted that Armenia ignored the 4 resolutions of the UN Security Council on the unconditional and immediate withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied territories: "However, thanks to the purposeful policy and farsighted strategy of President Ilham Aliyev, after the 44-day Patriotic War in November 2020, Azerbaijan liberated the lands and restored its territorial integrity." The article says that during the 30-year occupation by Armenia, a large number of landmines were buried in those territories to turn these areas into ruins and that up to 90,000 landmines have been discovered in the city of Aghdam, which was once one of the most beautiful cities in Azerbaijan, and is now called the Hiroshima of the Caucasus.

As reported, one of the main goals of the government of Azerbaijan is to demine the liberated territories and building "smart" cities: modern cities linked to each other by highways, railways, and international airports. In this regard, it is noted that the international airport was opened in the city of Fizuli, and two other airports were built in just 8 months.

The article also states that the Horadiz-Zengilan-Aghband railway was built, the areas with great potential for the use of renewable energy sources were declared green energy zones, the Gulabird HPP was restored in the Lachin district in a short period, and tens of thousands of units were built to supply the liberated territories with electricity. The opening of schools in the liberated territories and the start of education for hundreds of children were noted.

The author draws attention to the increasing involvement of international business supporting the reconstruction works in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan and states that he hopes several companies from Turkiye, Israel, and Italy will soon be involved in this work.
