British ambassador says important to sign peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia

It is important to sign a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, British Ambassador Fergus Auld said during his meeting with the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova on October 19.

Emphasizing that his country enjoys relations of broad cooperation with Azerbaijan in many fields, the diplomat said there are good opportunities for further expansion of ties.

He noted the dynamic relations, especially in the field of energy.

Auld emphasized that Azerbaijan is critical in ensuring Europe's energy security.

The ambassador noted the importance of Azerbaijan's efforts in implementing alternative and renewable energy projects and said this is an integral part of bilateral relations.
