President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has done a lot for Türkiye in over 20 years. This is a guarantee that he will achieve his goals in the leadership of the country in the future. His managerial experience, successful domestic and foreign policy make it necessary that he leads the country in the future, Professor of Bilkent University named after Ihsan Dogramaci Amrulla Mammadov told Report.
The professor emphasized that he witnessed the successful development of the country in the field of defense industry, as he worked for many years in ASELSAN and the Ministry of National Defense of Türkiye.
“If you look in retrospect, in 1990-1991, the capabilities of the Turkish Armed Forces in supply, logistics and ammunition were about 15%. As of mid-2022, this figure was 78%,” he said.
In 1992, Türkiye, which was not able to provide Azerbaijan with one or two helicopters to evacuate the wounded from Karabakh, kept 10 F-16 aircraft at the military airfield in Ganja in 2020, which it sent to exercises on the eve of the Second Karabakh War. "This fact alone is an indicator of how much the Turkish-Azerbaijani relations and the Turkish defense industry have developed," the professor added.
Recalling that the devastating earthquake which occurred on February 6, three months before the May 14 presidential and parliamentary elections, caused Türkiye $108 billion in damage, the professor said that the catastrophe will have its impact on the elections: " However, President Erdogan found ways out of these difficulties. All this is the result of executive talent. Imagine that from 1950 to 2001, foreign direct investment in Türkiye for the construction of factories and other facilities amounted to about $55 billion. Over the past 20 years, this figure has been about 220 billion. This suggests that over the past 20 years, foreign investors have believed in the development and economy of Türkiye and have invested in this country. And there are many similar examples."
