Baku and Minsk are linked by friendly relations that have been tested over time, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Natalia Petkevich said at the Belarus–Azerbaijan business forum, according to Report.
"Belarus and Azerbaijan have always been connected not just by close trade, economic or political relations, but by a truly time-tested friendship," Petkevich said.
She emphasized that relations between the two countries have stood the test of time and are developing "in the most favorable way."
Petkevich also noted that economic indicators show potential for further strengthening mutual ties.
"The fact that our heads of state have set an ambitious goal of reaching $1 billion in trade turnover means that we have potential. However, there is still a lot of work ahead," she said.
She added that Baku and Minsk can already be proud of their interstate cooperation in various areas.
"We discussed with colleagues at the government level, as well as with Samir Sharifov, the key directions we are focusing on, namely the creation of joint ventures and industrial cooperation to strengthen our ties," she concluded.
