Bayramov briefs OIC in Istanbul on post-conflict situation in South Caucasus, peace process with Armenia

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed participants of the 51st session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul on the post-conflict situation in the South Caucasus.

According to Report, speaking at the session, Minister Bayramov provided information on the reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories and Azerbaijan's peace initiatives in the post-conflict period.

Addressing the ongoing process of normalization between Baku and Yerevan, the minister emphasized that the territorial claims against Azerbaijan still enshrined in Armenia's constitution remain a major obstacle to the signing of a final peace agreement.

Bayramov also identified Armenia's refusal to agree to the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group—which he described as a relic of the past conflict—as another challenge to achieving lasting peace.
