Banzragch: Prosecutor General's Offices of Mongolia, Azerbaijan identify areas of cooperation

Mongolian Prosecutor General Jargalsaikhan Banzragch stated that the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan lays the foundation for multilateral cooperation, Report informs.

He noted that Baku and Ulaanbaatar can now cooperate in crime prevention and combating it, combating money laundering, legalization of criminal proceeds, and the fight against corruption.

"We believe this document expands cooperation between our prosecutor's offices, including the exchange of experience, mutual visits, and joint work on specific types of criminal cases," the prosecutor general said.

He added that Azerbaijan and Mongolia have intensified bilateral cooperation in recent years.

"Mongolia and Azerbaijan are countries whose peoples share a common history and culture. In 2024, during the participation of the President of Mongolia (Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh - ed.) in the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29), a meeting of the two presidents took place, at which they agreed to expand cooperation, which was an important event for the development of our bilateral relations," Banzragch concluded.
