Isfandiyar Vahabzade was released from his duties as an ambassador in 2016 by the head of state for the shortcomings in his activity, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry told Report.
"In such a case, as he does not represent either the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or other state bodies, it would not be correct for the Foreign Ministry to comment on his statements," the ministry said.
Notably, Isfandiyar Vahabzade used insulting expressions about chairman of Russia's Liberal Democratic Party, Duma member Vladimir Jirinovski in a video, the former diplomat himself circulated.
