Baku hosting UNFCCC Climate Week 4

UNFCCC Climate Week 4 has officially kicked off in Baku, organized by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Report, the event will run until September 11, with the first day dedicated to Energy Transition, Climate Finance, and Industrial Decarbonization.

The opening ceremony of the UNFCCC Climate Week 4 will take place on September 9.

As one of the leading international platforms for climate dialogue, partnerships, and practical implementation, Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW) 2026 aims to accelerate the Paris Agreement and national climate commitments. It brings together policymakers, business leaders, investors, researchers, academics, civil society, youth, cities, local communities, and international organizations.

With its global outlook and strong regional significance, BCAW 2026 hosts diverse participants from Azerbaijan, the wider region, and countries worldwide.

Attendees include government representatives, industry leaders, green technology innovators, financial institutions, climate scientists, academic institutions, private sector actors, NGOs, community groups, youth organizations, urban planners, architects, infrastructure experts, as well as figures from arts, culture, and sports. They will exchange knowledge, strengthen partnerships, attract investment, and promote innovative solutions for climate‑resilient, low‑carbon development.

Supporting the goals of the UNFCCC Regional Climate Week, BCAW 2026 serves as a cooperation platform for dialogue between governments and non‑state partners. It will showcase mitigation, adaptation, and resilience solutions, innovative technologies, and sustainable finance mechanisms.

The program will foster regional and international cooperation, encourage new partnerships and investments, strengthen the participation of youth, women, academia, civil society, and local communities, and support the development of green skills and climate education. It will also highlight circular economy and Zero Waste approaches as drivers of a just transition and sustainable development.
