The Baku Call to Action, adopted today following the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), opens opportunities for new forms of South–South and North–South cooperation.
According to the document, cited by Report, the outcomes of the World Urban Forum should include trackable commitments, documentation of successful programs and projects, and the exchange of practical implementation mechanisms to shape the post-2030 global agenda.
It also states that local and national processes help strengthen political momentum around the housing agenda.
In particular, the document references outcome statements from the Ministerial Meeting on the New Urban Agenda, the Nairobi Declaration of the Second African Urban Forum, and other regional agreements focused on affordable, inclusive, and climate-resilient housing.
The Baku Call to Action further notes that it opens opportunities for new forms of cooperation, learning, and engagement along South–South and North–South lines.
