Azerbaijani, Pakistani FMs discuss Middle East

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Ishaq Dar discussed expanding cooperation during Bayramov's working visit to New York, the United States, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of strategic partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and prospects for their development.
The parties expressed satisfaction with the high level of political dialogue and reviewed opportunities to further expand cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy, transport, defense industry, humanitarian affairs and other areas.
During the meeting, the successful hosting of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) by Azerbaijan and the participation of a high-level Pakistani delegation were noted with satisfaction.
It was emphasized that Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations, based on brotherhood and mutual support, continue successfully within regional and international organizations, and cooperation within the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other platforms was discussed.
The sides also exchanged views on regional security, the current situation in the Middle East and other international issues of mutual interest.
