Azerbaijani ombudsperson meets Slovak lawmakers

Azerbaijani Commissioner for Human Rights Ombudsperson Sabina Aliyeva has met with members of the Slovak National Council Marcela Čavojová and Zuzana Matejčiková, who are visiting Azerbaijan.
Report informs, citing the Ombudsman's Office, that during the meeting, Aliyeva said close ties exist between Azerbaijan and Slovakia.
The ombudsperson recalled with satisfaction her recent meeting with her Slovak counterpart during their visit to Azerbaijan and informed the guests about cooperation between the ombudsman institutions of Azerbaijan and Slovakia, based on friendship and partnership.
Aliyeva briefed the Slovak delegation in detail on her mandate and activities in the field of protecting human rights and freedoms.
She noted that her mandate has been expanded in recent years, monitoring groups have been established to ensure the right to equality and prevent discrimination, and positive experience has been gained in this area.
The members of the Slovak National Council thanked the ombudsperson for the warm reception and said multifaceted relations between the two countries are continuing successfully. They also noted that Slovak companies are closely involved in reconstruction and restoration work in Azerbaijan's liberated territories.
The meeting also included a broad exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest and prospects for future cooperation.
